Pursuant to HF2673, Iowa's Mental Health and Disability Services Regions sunset on June 30, 2025, which is the end of Fiscal Year 2025 for regions.  After June 30, some regional staff will remain in place to ensure close out activities are accomplished, including paying providers for services provided in FY25.

For Long Term Services and Supports (LTSS) services currently paid by the region, invoices after July 1, 2025, will be managed through HHS's Safety-Net Management Information System.  We will provide updated information from HHS as it becomes available.

SWIA MHDS, in conjunction with Pottawattamie County, is happy to announce we were awarded a contract to implement the Disability Access Point (DAP) system on July 1, 2025, for Districts 1 and 4 in Western Iowa.  Disability Access Points are local organizations that act as main entry points for information and services for people with disabilities and their caregivers.  We will also serve as an Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) member organization.  The DAP will provide Information and Assistance, Options Counseling, Short-Term Services and Supports (STSS), and Service Coordination for access to Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS).  Current services and support will remain in place through the initial implementation to ensure uninterrupted services for individuals.  We will be transitioning to the name, Western Iowa Services Collaborative.
